Dwight E. BROWN, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Born November 5th, 1936 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was married to Sara Prosterman Brown, who has predeceased him, for just shy of 54 years. He is survived by his daughter Cindy Goldberg and husband Jeff Goldberg, of Acworth, Georgia; two sons, Scott Brown and his wife Robin Brown of Powatan, Virginia; Randy Brown and his wife Kelly Brown of Dallas, Georgia. Dwight has seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his siblings Mildred Caldwell, Milton Brown, Dean Brown, Betty Moss, and Martha Birtles.

The Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 (original said 2019) at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Highway SW, Marietta, Georgia with beloved family member and pastor Del Parris, officiating. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Dwight Brown, grandfather of Douglas Brown, to Dan's House of Hope, Inc, P.O. Box 8444, Houston, TX 77288-8444, www.danshouseofhope.org. Dan's House of Hope offers families a place to stay while adolescents and young adults receive treatment for cancer.

Dolores LUKISH, wife of Tom Lukish, 2nd Company, passed away on September 20 in the Lehigh Valley hospital, Allentown, PA. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully. She had a heart attack and her condition gradually failed to respond to treatment, she was in the hospital for the previous week. Her funeral service and mass of celebration will be held in the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel, Annapolis, MD. After which she will be inurned in the Naval Academy Columbarium waiting for me. The services will be held on November 12, with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:30am in the Academy Chapel, to be followed by her Inurnment Service after the Mass in the Columbarium. There will be a luncheon after the service in the Naval Academy Officers Club.

Angelo (Angy) FERNANDEZ, 83, passed away October 11 2019. Angy has been hospitalized since July 30 fighting an aggressive form of leukemia.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda E. Elmore Fernandez, younger brother, Joseph Fernandez, his estranged son, Vincent Fernandez, and estranged daughters Julia Ann Fernandez, and Alicia Ann Dicks. He has three grandchildren, Mark Fernandez, and Meredith and Abigail Dicks.

Angy's funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19 in Algood, TN. The Funeral Home is Hooper, Huddelson, Horner 209 Hub Circle, Algood, TN 38506 Phone: (931) 526-6111.
Fr. John Patrick Day will officiate. Interment will military honors provided by a US Marine Corps Honor Guard will follow at the Cookeville City Cemetery.
His family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.

John Joseph BRAY, 82, passed away August 17, 2019. Services will take place at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel.
There will be a Funeral Mass in the Main Chapel on Thursday, 17 October 2019 at 1400 for former Navy LT John Joseph Bray Jr., Class of 1959 (DOB: 01 July 1937, DOD: 18 August 2019), followed by a service of committal at the Columbarium. A Reception will be held at the Naval Academy Club.

Byron J. (Bob) OISTAD, 82, passed away April 24, 2019 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Loyal and Berenice; and three brothers, James, Dean, and Leon. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Irene; children, Eric (Lori), Bruce (Dawn), Kristin, and Peter; grandchildren, Trevor, Olivia, Veronica, James “Jack”, Xavier, and Sophia; sister, LaVonne (Curt) Lundeen; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held to honor Bob’s life on May 5th from 1 PM to 3 PM with a brief service at 2:30 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN and in Karlstad, MN later this summer.

Services and Interment will take place at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery on Monday, 30 September 2019 at 11AM

Anthony (Tony) J. LaSala, Sr. ESQ, age 82, and a more than fifty-year resident of Wayne, passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, August 23, 2019. Tony was the loving husband of 32 years to Marion LaSala; loving father of the late Anthony LaSala, Jr. (d.2016) and his wife Jill, Frank LaSala of Franklin Lakes, and Maria Profita and her husband Mario of Mountainside; step-father of Lorna Franck of Wayne, Gary Macleod and his wife Jennifer of Bradenton, FL, and David Macleod of Gilford, CT; he was a cherished grandfather.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the funeral home then to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes where at 10:00 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.

William H. (Bill) EVERETT, passed away peacefully on September 1st, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK, after relocating from Casper, WY with his wife Margot. Bill is survived by his wife Margot Everett, their two sons, Wayne W. Everett (Susan) of Tulsa, OK, and Keith R. Everett (Cyndy) of Redwood City, CA, three grandchildren and other relatives. A graduate of the Class of '59, 15th Company, Bill had tenure as a Navy Submarine Officer, then pursued a life long career as an attorney, practicing in Casper and Tulsa.

A special service in Bill’s memory will be held at Schaudt’s Funeral Home in Tulsa, OK on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 P.M.

Edward E. (Ted) ALEXANDER passed away December 20 with his wife of 55 years, Ann, by his side. He’s also survived by his three sons, Edward, Bryan, and Bruce; one daughter-in-law, Paula; three grandchildren, Dane, Nathan, and Kathryn Ann; and one surviving sibling, his brother Frank.

Ted had a distinguished Naval career rising to the rank of Captain. He furthered his service to the community in the Vestry of St. John‘s Episcopal Church, McLean Citizens Association, American Legion Post #18, the Army Navy Country Club, the American Small Business Association, among other organizations.

A Funeral Service with Full Military Honors service to be held at Arlington National Cemetery on 28 June 2019 at 1:00PM at Old Post Army Chapel, Fort Myer, Arlington, VA. Due to security, arrive NLT 12:15PM (need driver's license and registration).  A reception will be held at 2:45PM at the Army Navy Country Club. The club is ten mintues from Fort Myer. Diane B. COOPER, wife of Donald Cooper, 21st Company, passed away January 2, 2019. Along with her husband, Diane is survived by four children, Michael (wife Christy), Jane (husband Mark), Daniel (wife Laurie) and Julianne (husband Michael), eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A funeral mass in celebration will be held followed by inurnment. Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Chapel at 1030 on Monday, 17 June 2019 . Vehicle procession to the Columbarium will follow the Mass. Followed by a reception at the Naval Academy Club.

William E. POWELL Rear Admiral William E. Powell, Jr. passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. RADM Powell graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1959 and served the Navy with distinction for 30 years. Powell was selected for the rank of Rear Admiral, becoming the first African-American flag officer in the Navy Supply Corps and only the eighth African-American flag officer overall in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from active duty with the Navy, RADM Powell accepted a position at DuPont in Wilmington DE, and subsequently worked for PECO Energy Company in Philadelphia.

RADM Powell is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Loretta Braxton Mitchell; sons William C. Powell and David A. Powell; grandsons Cameron Mitchell Powell and Lawson Maxwell Powell; niece LCDR Cecile R. Powell, USN Ret.; and the Scott-Lawson families. There will be a Committal Service at the Columbarium on Monday, 03 June 2019 at 1300 at the U.S. Naval Academy. A Reception will follow at the Alumni House, Ogle Hall.

David Freeman SEARS, 81, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on May 7, 2019. He was born in Seattle, WA, attendeed high school in California, and graduated with highest honors from the U.S. Naval Academy with the Class of 1959. He served on a destroyer before submarine training then serving in the submarine service for 17 years. David married his college sweetheart, Catherine Neos of Bethlehem Pennsylvania, in September of 1962.

While in the Navy they were blessed with 9 children: David of Elk Grove (Teri), Nichola of Loyalton (Shawn), Jason of Elk Grove (Edith), Anna of Ojai, Raechelle of Elk Grove (Kevin), Jonathan of Vallejo, Rebekah of Elk Grove (Doug) James of Benicia, and Michael of Chico (Leah). After leaving the naval service they added Audrell of Vacaville to the family. They were then blessed with 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

David is survived by his brother Murven (Helen) of Mendocino, California, and many nieces and nephews. Committal will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery alongside his beloved wife of nearly 50 years Catherine.

Thomas Cushman Zacharias, 81, died April 9, 2019. He is survived by His wife, Debi, son Steven, and many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He married Janet Beulah King on June 20, 1959, and they had three sons, Randal, Daniel and Steven. After Janet's death, Thomas married Debi Werner on Aug. 6, 1994.

John Wesley Bogle,84, of Kenner, LA, peacefully went to his heavenly home from the comfort of his earthly home on April 18, 2019.

He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Linda Dawkins Bogle, and quite a legacy of seven children: Lisa (Charles) Kelly, James (Sayeh) Bogle, Suzie (Glenn) Cristodero, David (Michelle) Bogle, Kenneth (Christa) Bogle, Matthew (Paige) Holliday, and Daniel (Dana) Holliday. He also has 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren


A celebration of Mr. Bogle's life will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by a Methodist service. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. James (Jim) Vincent DUNN died Friday (4/5/2019) surrounded by his family after a long battle with COPD. Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife of 53 years, Florence A. Dunn, and two children: Theresa Dunn Boothe and Thomas Dunn. He also leaves behind one granddaughter, Gwendolyn Dunn. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Dunn, and his children Sharon Dunn and Daniel Dunn.

A wake will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462 on Wednesday, April 10 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Cliff is survived by his wife, Maureen; his children, Maura Estes and Peter Estes; his daughter-in-law, Gretchen Estes; and his three grandchildren, Will, Ethan and Anna, all who live in York. Marjorie A. BOTTORFF passed away Tuesday morning, 5 Feb 2019 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She is survived by her husband, Rear Admiral David E Bottorff, CEC, USN Ret; her son David S Bottorff, a Navy vet and his wife Jody; a grandson, 2nd LT Alex H Bottorff, USMC and his wife Bekah; a granddaughter Amanda. Marjorie is also survived by her son John W. Bottorff and his partner Suzanne Hume of Oceanside, CA.

David and Marjorie were members of Kempsville Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, VA for more than 25 years. A funeral service celebrating Marjorie's life will be held at Kempsville Presbyterian Church on Friday 15 March. The visitation will be at 1pm, the service at 2pm followed by a reception at the church. The internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on March 15, 2019.

Marjorie A. BOTTORFF passed away Tuesday morning, 5 Feb 2019 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Geraldine DiTullio BOLTZ, wife of classmate Jacob Boltz, age 81, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on February 8, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Left to cherish her memory are her high school sweetheart and loving husband of almost 60 years, Jacob Boltz; her three sons, Jacob M. Boltz, James V. Boltz & his wife Julie, and Daniel J. Boltz & his wife Melinda; her six grandchildren,Taherai, Ethan, Kathryn, Daniel “DJ”, Jake, and Dominic; and her sister, Kathleen DiTullio.
